Search at the Museum
Visitors to the Historisches Museum Bremerhaven can search for individual people in the database at two user-friendly terminals in the museum exhibition rooms. A certificate showing the results of your search can be printed at the museum till for a small charge.

The Database
The main core of information in the German Emigrants Database comes from the passenger manifests of the emigrant ships.
The amount of data on the passenger lists is changing over time. At the beginning of the 19th century around 14 informations were recorded for each person. After 1900 there were already more than 40 entries.
Research on emigrants is currently possible in the following periods:
1820–1897
1904
1907 (partial)
Service
If you are not able to come to the Historisches Museum Bremerhaven yourself, you may send a search order to the Search Service of the "Förderkreises Morgenstern-Museum der Seestadt Bremerhaven e. V." who will conduct the search for you. There is a small fee for this service.
